Games People Play

Recently I read the book ‘Games People Play’ by Eric Berne. Author has successfully written the book in three parts; summary of analysis, details on different games played by people and a significance of games, players, and a paradigm. The book describes a psychological theory and analysis of people behavior, interactions that are called as ‘Games’.
  • Part – I includes summary on different Transactions, structural analysis, procedures and rituals, pastimes and games.
  • Part – II explains in detail a thesaurus of games which covers life, marital, party, sexual, underworld, counseling rooms and good games.
  • Part – III – describes a paradigm, significance of games, autonomy that makes audience to think about game free life.
Author has also described three different Ego states that every person has inside Child, Parent and Adult. The balance of ego(s) helps a person to grow in life and interact with people in a game free environment. This book also provides examples on different behavior patterns at different situations by different people. The conclusion is it is a good book to read that helps to know games people play, game free life and its significance.
